Has made about 165 appearances for his various clubs. Ashley endured a disappointing season in 2000-01 when he only managed three league starts and was placed on the transfer-list early on. A trial at Mansfield failed to bring a permanent move and he then picked up a back injury in February that ruled him out for the remainder of the campaign. He is a solid and versatile defender who can play anywhere across the back four.
