Griffin had to wait until the end of September for a chance in Cheltenham Town's first team in 2000-01 but when the opportunity arose he grabbed it with both hands, scoring a spectacular goal in the 5-2 win over Plymouth Argyle.
A speedy right-sided player who made most of his appearances at right-back, Griffin suffered a succession of injuries including hamstring pulls and groin strains that prevented him from establishing himself as a regular for the Robins.
A hardworking and versatile player, he can also play as a wing back or in midfield.
