A solid no-frills type of player, Anthony failed to get into the Chelsea first team on a regular basis but later did well with Charlton Athletic and Bolton Wanderers.

Having joined Bolton Wanderers on a free transfer in the 2000 close season, Anthony went on to become an invaluable member of the Wanderers' squad in 2000-01.

Although able to play anywhere in defence or midfield, he was used mainly at right back where his experience was put to good effect.

He was given a run of games in the opening months of the campaign and was later drafted in and out of the team as required by boss Sam Allardyce.

A solid no-frills type of player.

Anthony was made available for transfer by in January 2005 before joining Plymouth Argyle in July 2005 with a two-year contract.

Anthony was made available for transfer by Plymouth Agyle in November 2006.
