Aged 17 years and 311 days, Ansu Fati became the youngest-ever player to score for Spain (versus Ukraine in Madrid in the UEFA Nations League on 7 September 2020). He broke the record held by Juan Errazquin (18 years and 344 days versus Switzerland in Bern on 1 June 1925).

Ansu had already become Barcelona's yougest-ever goalscorer when he netted in a La Liga game against Osasuna on 31 August 2019, aged 16 years and 304 days. The previous club record was set by Bojan Krkic in October 2007.
