Anel Ahmedhodžić was selected on Nottingham Forest's subs bench for the first time on 14 September 2016 in a League Championship game at Rotherham United.
After making his international debut for Sweden in a friendly against Moldova in January 2020, Anel decided in August 20220 that he would prefer to play for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
His request to change citizenship from Swedish to Bosnian was approved by FIFA in September 2020.
