Andy Woodward

Woodward made a single appearance for Sheffield United in the Worthington Cup tie against Lincoln City last August before joining Scunthorpe on loan. He made his debut for the Iron at Southend on his 27th birthday and immediately became a favourite with the club's fans. He enjoyed a three-month period at Glanford Park interrupted for five weeks by a knee operation, however with no permanent deal being agreed he returned to Bramall Lane at the end of January. He is a versatile defender who can play right back, left back or in a central defensive role but whatever position he is asked to play in he performs with composure and commitment.
