McAvoy was again unable to win a regular place in the Hartlepool first team last season. He was given a handful of opportunities in the first half of the campaign but found himself restricted to reserve team football in the new year. A versatile player who can play either as a right-sided attacking midfielder or as a striker he was released at the end of the campaign.
