Johnson had a bit of a stop-start season in 2000-01 for Nottingham Forest.
A regular in the early weeks of the season, he missed the important turn-of-the year period through injury before returning again to the line-up.
A key figure in the midfield engine room for Forest, he sometimes seems to run without stopping for the full 90 minutes of a match.
A box-to-box player in the centre of the park, his inspirational play regularly lifted his team-mates.
Johnson's contract at West Bromwich Albion was extended to June 2006 in July 2004.
He was made available for transfer by Barnsley in May 2008 before his contract was cancelled in January 2009.
