Plucked from non-league football, Andy had formed an impressive partnership with Micky Quinn prior to breaking his ankle. Much had changed by the time he recovered with Kevin Keegan taking over as manager.
The top First Division scorer for 1999-2000 was forced to retire as a result of Post Viral Fatigue Syndrome.
