Andy Holt

Holt rather surprisingly lost his place at left back in Oldham Athletic's line-up following some useful early-season displays and in March 2001 he moved on loan to Hull City where he mostly featured on the left-hand side of midfield.

He played an important role in guiding the Tigers into the Play-Offs, scoring crucial goals in the draw at Torquay United and in the local derby with Scunthorpe United, the latter coming with a spectacular free-kick from the edge of the box.

A versatile player with a terrific long throw his direct style makes him a threat when pushing forward from the back.

Holt joined Hull City for £160,000 during the summer break but, following a change of management, was made available for transfer a year later with a year of his contract to run.

He joined Barnsley on loan in August 2002 before finishing the term on loan at Shrewsbury Town.

He was again made available on a free transfer in April 2003 but was soon restored to the first team squad - mostly as cover for Stuart Elliott in the wide midfield role.

Holt joined Wrexham in July 2004 with a two-year contract.

He joined Northampton Town in July 2006 with a two-year contract that was extended to June 2010 in May 2008 and to June 2012 in June 2010.
