Holdsworth got his first senior call-up for Huddersfield Town when he was an unused sub in the final game of the 2002-03 season against Oldham Athletic.
His Terriers contract was extended to June 2006 in December 2003 and to June 2009 in April 2007.
Holdsworth joined Oldham Athletic in July 2009 with a two-year contract.
He joined Morecambe in January 2011 with a contract to June 2011.
