As an indication of his potential, Andy Butler's contract at Scunthorpe United was extended to June 2008 in December 2003.
Andy joined Huddersfield Town in July 2008 with a three-year contract but was made available for transfer in May 2010 before his contract was cancelled shortly afterwards.
He joined Walsall in November 2010 with a contract to June 2011 that was extended to June 2013 in May 2011 and to June 2014 in March 2013.
Andy joined Sheffield United in July 2014 with a two-year contract.
After a loan spell, he joined Doncaster Rovers in January 2015 with a contract to June 2017 that was extended to June 2018 in January 2017 and to June 2019 in January 2018.
