Skerla is a pacy central defender who is very effective in the air and reads the game well. He first came to prominence with Zalgiris Vilnius, making his full international debut in 1996. He later had a spell in the Netherlands with PSV Eindhoven before joining Dunfermline in August 2000. His performances have already earned him much praise and reported interest from several bigger clubs.
