Gibb continued where he had left off at the end of the 1999-2000 campaign for Stockport County in 2000-01, firmly establishing himself as a first choice on the right-hand side of the defence.
Comfortable in a flat back four, his blistering pace and ability to cross the ball accurately on the run is also perfect for the modern day wing-back role.
A tireless worker down the flank, Gibb can push forward to deliver accurate crosses and also showed himself to be something of a dead-ball specialist for County, taking most of the corners on the right.
He went on the Edgeley Park transfer list at the end of the 2001-02 season but came off in September 2002 after a string of impressive performances.
He joined Bristol Rovers in March 2004 with a contract to the end of the season that was subsequently extended to June 2006.
Gibb was made available for transfer by Hartlepool United in January 2008.
