Denmark International
Having joined Watford for a club record fee in the 2000 close season Allan was a virtual ever-present and exerted a considerable influence on the Hornets' midfield. A player very much in the Graham Taylor mould, his performances tended to mirror those of the team as a whole. At his best, he worked purposefully, passed effectively and scored some useful goals. His long throw-ins proved a potent weapon when delivered into the opposition penalty area while he also demonstrated leadership qualities as a stand-in captain.
