A lively wing man with a powerful shot. Alf played in Newton Heath's inaugural League season (1892-93), six seasons in all. In the Football Alliance (1889-92) Alf Farman played all three seasons (60 appearances, 25 goals) His brilliant hat-trick in the Test match against Small Heath saved the club from relegation.
