Considered to be some wise observers as the best centre-forward of his generation, Albert scored at an astonishing rate during his time with the Magpies. Leading scorer in the 1908-09 Championship-winning season, he scored both goals in the FA Cup Final replay against Barnsley in 1910 when the cup was brought back to Tyneside for the first time.
