Regarded as one of the great prospects in African football he is another graduate from the St Etienne youth team.
He has broken into the first team in 2001-02 and made his debut for Senegal in 2001 and was part of their 2002 World Cup squad.
Alassane joined West Bromwich Albion in September 2003 in a season long loan.
He joined Walsall in February 2008 with a contract to June 2008.
