Pouton, who was signed by Oxford United from Newcastle United whilst still a trainee at St James' Park, joined Gillingham in January 2004 with a contract to June 2007.
Pouton was made available for transfer by Gillingham in October 2005.
He retired in January 2007 due to a knee injury.
