Alan McLoughlin struggled to find his best form at Wigan Athletic in 2000-01 and his only League Division 2 outings came from the subs' bench. His only starts came in the LDV Vans Trophy ties when he showed he could still score by netting twice in the 3-2 first round win at Oldham Athletic.
He is a creative figure in the middle of the park with neat skills and the ability to get forward into good attacking positions.
After moving to Forest Green Rovers in the Conference, Alan brought his playing career to a close in April 2003 due to a back injury.
