Marriott was Lincoln City's first choice goalkeeper in 2000-01 until a knee injury in early December forced him to undergo a cartilage operation.
He was out for two months and was then unable to replace loan 'keeper Chris Day, and it was not until Day returned to Watford that he was able to regain his place.
He is a fine shot stopper who is improving as he gains greater experience of first-team football.
Marriott agreed a new two-year deal with Lincoln City in July 2003 that was extended to June 2008 in June 2005.
His contract at Mansfield Town was extended to June 2014 in May 2013.
