This vastly experienced goalkeeper spent eight seasons with Dundee United before falling out of favour and moving on to St Johnstone in January 1995. Since then he has been Saints first-choice keeper, making more than 250 senior appearances. A competent shot stopper who is quick off the mark in pursuit of loose through balls, Alan has been included in the Scotland squad on several occasions but has yet to win a first cap.
