This ever-dependable left back again produced many a fine performance for Wimbledon in 2000-01. Unfortunately he was hampered by a string of injuries (tendons and hamstring) and these somewhat restricted his opportunities. He continued to retain his role as a set-piece specialist and his experience proved invaluable in bringing on the youngsters in the team.
Alan was released by Wimbledon at the end of the 2001-02 season and joined his former Dons boss Joe Kinnear at Luton Town on a one-year contract.
