A defender who can play on the right or left, Adam Yates made his mark in the youth team at Crewe Alexandra in 2001-02.
He joined Port Vale in July 2009 with a two-year contract that was extended to June 2013 in May 2011, to June 2015 in June 2013, to June 2016 in June 2015 and to June 2017 in June 2016.
Adam announced his retirement in March 2018 due to a serious facial injury.
