Loaned out to Scottish First Division club Clyde at the beginning of 2000-01, Adam responded in style with a hat-trick on his debut against Falkirk and a tally of five goals in six appearances.
On his return to Wolverhampton Wanderers, he scored in his first game to clinch the Worthington Cup tie against Oxford United and, although he was to some extent in and out of the side, he finished the campaign as the club's leading scorer with nine goals in all competitions.
Two of these were especially memorable - a cracking winner in the FA Cup tie at Nottingham Forest and a 25-yard beauty at Grimsby Town.
A tall hard-working striker who is still learning the game, his control and strength on the ball improved during the season.
Adam joined Sheffield Wednesday in September 2003 on a three-year contract but was made available for transfer in August 2004.
After a loan spell, Adam joined Ipswich Town in January 2006 with a contract to the end of the season.
He joined Stockport County in August 2006 on non-contract terms.
After a loan spell, Adam joined Grimsby Town in January 2009 with a contract to June 2011.
He was made available for transfer by the Mariners in May 2010.
