Comments:

League position: 23rd In a game when recently appointed manager Jackie McNamara handed debuts to six new players, York City had now equalled a club record of eight consecutive defeats in all competitions (also November 1963 to January 1964 and January to February in 1976). This was the Minstermen's heaviest home defeat since Stoke City's win by the same margin in the Worthington Cup on 22 August 2000. It was their biggest defeat at Bootham Crescent in the league since Walsall's 5-1 success in League Division Three on 22 November 1986.
