Comments:

League position: 13th Wolverhampton Wanderers had now lost two of their last eight games in the Premier League (won three). Wolves had now opened the scoring in one of their last 19 games in the Premier League. They failed in their attempt to keep a clean sheet in consecutive games for the second time in this Premier League season. Wolverhampton Wanderers named eight of a possible nine substitutes. Rui Patrício was replaced by John Ruddy after 90 minutes under the new concussion substitute protocol. This did not count as one of Wolverhampton Wanderers' three regular changes.

Comments:

League position: 6th Although they had lost six of their preceding seven games in the Premier League, Liverpool had now won five of their last six away games in all competitions (lost one). The Reds had now scored the opening goal in their last nine away games in all competitions. Diogo Jota became the first player to score a goal in the Premier League in his first season with Liverpool at a team he previously played since Harry Kewell at Leeds United on 29 February 2004.
