Comments:

League position: 13th This was West Ham United's first goalless draw in this Premier League season; only Chelsea and Crystal Palace had now yet to be involved in goalless games in 2016-17. The Hammers had now won one of their last ten Premier League games. United had now have scored 18 goals in their home games in this Premier League season; eight fewer than in their away games. West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic said: "If any team deserved three points it was us. To limit them to one chance requires a lot of hard work. The only bit of negativity is that I felt at moments we lacked some quality in our decision-making. We played like 11 lions, one for each other."

League position: 6th Everton failed to score for only the second time in their last 17 Premier League games. The Toffees were now without a win in their last six away games in the Premier League. They now had 58 points from their 34 games so far in this Premier League season; 17 more points than at the same stage in 2015-16 when they were in 11th position. Everton manager Ronald Koeman said: "It was really far from what we are used to, from the first minute to the last second. We didn't get the intensity. It was a poor performance with a lot of negatives. One positive is we kept a clean sheet."
