League position: 14th West Bromwich Albion had now lost their last three meetings with Queens Park Rangers in all competitions. Prior to this game, Albion had kept six clean sheets in seven games in all competitions at The Hawthorns under new manager Tony Pulis.

League position: 18th This was only Queens Park Rangers’ second away Premier League win in this season and they had lost nine of their last ten league games. With their first league win at The Hawthorns since 1999, the Hoops completed the double over the Baggies for the first time since the 1985-86 season. Eduardo Vargas’ goal was the first time that Queens Park Rangers had scored in the first 15 minutes of a Premier League match in 2014-15, the last club to do so. Rangers last scored three goals in the first half of a Premier League game on 4 February 1995 against Newcastle United at Loftus Road. They won 3-0 with two of the goals scored by their current director of football, Les Ferdinand.
