Comments:

League position: 10th West Bromwich Albion had now only taken two points from their last six Premier Leagues games at The Hawthorns. Only Arsenal (27) and Manchester United (25) had now kept more clean sheets in the Premier League than the Baggies (23) since Tony Pulis became their manager in in January 2015. 16 year-old Kane Wilson was selected on Albion's subs bench in the same week that he received his GCSE results (11 passes).

League position: 6th Middlesbrough failed in their attempt to win consecutive away games in the Premier League for the first time since February 2006. Boro failed to score for only the second time in their last 14 league and cup games. They remained unbeaten after the first three games of a Premier League season for the first time since 2002.
