Comments:

League position: 8th West Bromwich Albion had lost only one of their preceding eight Premier League games (won five). They failed in their attempt to win five consecutive home games in the top division for the first time since the 1980-81 season. Former Crystal Palace boss Tony Pulis became the 12th manager to take charge of 300 Premier League games. Manager Tony Pulis said: "No excuses today. We weren't at it right from the start. Congratulations to Palace. I'm not going to criticise the players because they have been fantastic this year. We've had an off day and I hope that is all it is."

Comments:

League position: 17th Crystal Palace had now won consecutive Premier League games for the first time since September 2016. The Eagles had now taken as many points in their last three Premier League away games as they had done in their previous nine (six points). Christian Benteke had now scored one goal in his last 12 Premier League games. Manager Sam Allardyce said: "This is a much bigger win than last weekend against Middlesbrough because to put back-to-back wins together here against West Brom at The Hawthorns is a big statement." Christian Benteke was booked in the first minute of added time in the first-half.
