League position: 8th Will Hughes became Watford’s 12th different scorer so far in this Premier League season; more than any other club. This was their second win in their last eight home games in the Premier League. The Hornets kept their first clean sheet in their last eight Premier League games. Commenting on speculation of his possible move to Everton, Watford manager Marco Silva said: "There has been zero distraction. We know what our work is, we did a fantastic week, the players worked really hard and today they performed really well and we deserved the three points. My future is tomorrow, we start to prepare the next day, we have already planned the session, that is my future. I understand the questions, some things we can't control. I know what is in my hands and that is the session tomorrow."

League position: 18th This was new manager David Moyes' first game in charge of West Ham United and his 500th game as a manager in the Premier League (won 196, lost 169). The Hammers had now equalled their club record for the most goals conceded after 12 games of a Premier League season (also 25 in 2001-02). They had now gone on to lose all six games so far in this Premier League season when they were losing at half-time. West Ham United manager David Moyes said: "I always thought this was a big job. Some big players with big reputations disappointed me a lot. I thought they would show me more. They need to show me why they have got that reputation. I don't enjoy the performance and I expected us to do better. We tried to stay in the game and give ourselves a chance, and we probably did, but overall it was not good enough."
