Comments:

League position: 13th This was Watford’s 200th home game in the top division (won 84, lost 65). The Hornets failed in their attempt to win four consecutive home games in the top division for the first time since December 1986 and to keep four consecutive clean sheets in the top division at home for the first time. Emre Can's goal was the first that Watford had conceded in the Premier League at Vicarage Road in five hours and 19 minutes of play. Watford manager Walter Mazzarri said: "We didn't concede them almost anything and had a couple of chances so overall it was a good performance. Usually I don't like to speak about luck but today we were completely unlucky. We didn't deserve to lose."

Comments:

League position: 3rd Liverpool had now won 20 games in a Premier League season for the second time in the last eight seasons (26 wins in 2013-14). The Reds had now won three consecutive away games in the Premier League under manager Jurgen Klopp for the second time (also in October 2016). James Milner became the 22nd player to make 450 appearances in the Premier League. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said: "We don't expect for a second it will be easy to reach the Champions League. If people think we have the three points against Southampton they can not have seen Southampton this season. We didn't play perfect against Watford and a draw would have been hard to accept, but we got the three points and that is all that the lads deserved."
