League position: 19th Watford became the third team to lose ten consecutive home games in the top division after Birmingham City in League Division One in February 1986 and Sunderland in the Premier League in August 2005. The Hornets had now lost 22 games in the Premier League in 2021-22: more than any other team. They had now failed to keep a clean sheet in 21 consecutive home games in the Premier League. Emmanuel Dennis' goal was initially disallowed for offside but the decision was subsequently overturned following a VAR review.

The Bees had now won five of their last six games in the Premier League (lost one).
