Comments:

League position: 4th Watford had now made their best eight-game start to a top division season (15 points) since their first-ever season in the top grade in 1982-83 under Graham Taylor (16 points). The Hornets avoided a run of six home games in the top division without a win for the first time since October 1984. Watford became the first team in the competition's history to score result-changing goals in added time in three consecutive games in the Premier League. Watford manager Marco Silva said: “I think the key was the way we played the second-half, we changed our attitude in the match and I think as well the way we reacted after the 1-1. In a normal situation you drop back again and wait for our opponents to create problems for us because we played against a very, very good team who have fantastic players."

Comments:

League position: 6th Arsenal avoided failing to score in their opening four away league games of a season for the first time since 1936. The Gunners lost to an added-time winner in the Premier League for the first time since 2 January 2012 (scored by Bobby Zamora for Fulham). They failed in their attempt to keep clean sheets in five consecutive Premier League games for the first time since January 2006. Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger said: “It [the Watford penalty] was a scandalous decision, but what can we do? Nothing. You can talk and talk but at the end of the day they scored. We had many situations when we could have scored the second and didn’t. After that we were unlucky because the decision on the penalty is a bit ridiculous. Then we panicked a bit in the last seconds. We didn’t need to give the ball away.”
