Since the tournament was expanded in 2016, Ukraine became the first team to fail to reach the knockout stages despite taking four points from their group games. . They had now kept a clean sheet for the first time in their 14 games at UEFA European Championship tournaments. They had been the only team that played more than five games at the Euros without keeping a clean sheet . Ukraine had now either not scored or scored two goals in each of their 14 games at the Euros - none in nine and twice in five. . Ukraine named 13 of a possible 15 substitutes.
