Comments:

This was the first time that Italy had scored more than two goals in a game at a UEFA European Championship finals (played 39). Aged 22 years and 106 days, Gianluigi Donnarumma became Italy’s youngest-ever goalkeeper at a major tournament (FIFA World Cup and UEFA European Championship); previously Giorgio Ghezzi against Belgium in the 1954 World Cup (aged 23 years and 342 days). Italy had now kept a clean sheet in nine consecutive 'A' internationals for the first time since June 1990.
