League position: 5th Tottenham Hotspur kept a clean sheet for the first time in their last 12 games at Wembley Stadium. Spurs failed in their attempt to set a new club record of scoring in 30 consecutive Premier League home games. They had won their last seven Premier League games played in the month of September. Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino said: “When you try, I can say nothing but congratulate the players because the effort was fantastic. Tomorrow we train and we keep going. It’s only early in the season and we need to stay calm and try to win the next game.”

League position: 14th Swansea City were now unbeaten in their first three away games in a top division season for the first time. The Swans completed a new club record of four consecutive clean sheets in away games in the top division. According to OPTA Stats, City failed to register a single shot on target for the third time in their five Premier League games so far in this season. Swansea City manager Paul Clement said: "I would have taken a 0-0 against a strong Tottenham side at Wembley before the game – and I would have taken it as the game went on. But we didn’t come here to draw the game. We came with a very specific plan to be difficult to break down and possibly have that chance to counter or the set play."
