Comments:

League position: 5th Christian Eriksen has now scored a winning goal in the last two minutes of a match for Tottenham Hotspur three times this season. Spurs have so far taken a total of ten points this term from goals scored in after 88 minutes or later. The Premier League’s Goal Accreditation Panel ruled on the following: - Tottenham Hotpur’s first goal against Sunderland on Saturday 17th January 2015 was in fact an own goal (John O’Shea) and has therefore not been credited to Jan Vertonghen. (Circular 17 – 22nd January 2015)

Comments:

League position: 16th Will Buckley replaced Billy Jones in the first minute of added time in the second half. Jermain Defoe made his debut for Sunderland, strangely against one of his former clubs. He was unable to maintain his record of scoring on his debut for every club he has represented. He achieved this for West Ham United, AFC Bournemouth, Tottenham Hotspur, Portsmouth and Toronto FC.
