Comments:

League position: 7th This was Tottenham Hotspur's first home game in the Premier League since Boxing Day 2021. All seven of Spurs' defeats so far in this Premier League season had come in games played in London. SON Heung-min had now scored in five consecutive appearances in home games in the Premier League for a second time (also December 2017 to January 2018). Steven Bergwijn scored in the 90th minute but the goal was disallowed after a VAR review due to an offside decision.

Comments:

League position: 10th Southampton had now taken 402 points from their 436 away games in the Premier League (won 96, lost 226). The Saints had now scored 51 goals in their 45 games in the Premier League since 1 January 2022 (conceded 85). James Ward-Prowse failed in his attempt to become the third Southampton player to score in four consecutive away games in the Premier League after Marians Pahars and Rickie Lambert.
