League position: 2nd Tottenham Hotspur had now won nine consecutive home league games for the first time since October 1987 in League Division One. Harry Kane had now scored 14 goals in 12 league and cup games in 2017, including three hat-tricks. In his 150th game in charge of Tottenham Hotspur, manager Mauricio Pochettino had now won 100 games in English football (77 for Spurs and 23 for Southampton). Manager Mauricio Pochettino said: "The most important thing is to show the belief on the pitch and today I think we showed that. "More than talk and more than speak outside, it is better the team show their performance."

League position: 7th With his 61st goal, Romelu Lukaku now became Everton's leading scorer in the Premier League. He surpassed the record previously held by current coach Duncan Ferguson. This was the Toffees' first defeat in their last ten Premier League games (won six); their best such run since December 2013. They had now lost six of their last eight away games in the Premier League that had been played on a Sunday (won one). Manager Ronald Koeman said: "It was emotional until the last second. We started really well and made it tough for Tottenham to create space between the lines. But our mistakes were punished."
