The Swans had now lost three consecutive home games in the Premier League for the first time under one manager since 19 January 2014 under Michael Laudrup. Tammy Abraham had now scored two of City's three goals after six games of this Premier League season. Swansea City manager Paul Clement said: "I was frustrated after the Newcastle game and I am frustrated again today. I know this team can play a lot better. At the moment we are not playing to our potential at home, and we have to find that very quickly.”

League position: 6th Watford had now won three consecutive away games in the top division for the first time. The Hornets failed in their attempt to keep clean sheets in three consecutive away games in the top division for the first time since March 1986. Andre Gray scored for the second time in his last 17 appearances in the Premier League. Watford manager Marco Silva said: "Important three points for us – really important. Different in the first-half and the second-half - we started really well in the first-half and our first 35 minutes we did very well. The football we played as well. We scored a goal and in those moments when you control the match like that, you need to believe and score the second to kill the match. You never kill the match in the Premier League but to score the second goal would give our team would more confidence in the match."
