Comments:

League position: 18th Swansea City had now won four of their last six home games in the Premier League after winning only two of their first 11 games at the Liberty Stadium in this season. This was the Swans' first win in their last seven games in the Premier League (lost five). Tom Carroll's goal was his first in the Premier League since Boxing Day in 2015 when he scored for Tottenham Hotspur in a 3-0 win against Norwich City. Tom Carroll was booked in the second minute of added time in the first-half. Swansea City manager Paul Clement said: "I thought it was a must-win game and Hull have won and it was absolutely right. If the gap had gone to five points with four to play, the task would have been very difficult. Nothing changed between us and Hull but what has changed is we have got momentum now."

Comments:

League position: 11th Stoke City had now failed to score in six consecutive away league games for the first time since August 1997. The Potters had now lost eight of their last ten away games in the Premier League. City had now failed to score in the last 596 playing minutes in their away games in the Premier League since a 3-1 win at Sunderland on 14 January 2017. Stoke City manager Mark Hughes said: "We hadn't got going. At 1-0 for the most part we were okay but clearly the game has changed on missing our penalty. If we could get back on terms, who knows?"
