Comments:

League position: 17th Swansea City failed in their attempt to equal their club record of four consecutive home wins in the Premier League. This was the Swans' second clean sheet in their last 15 Premier League games. After 30 games, 99 goals had been scored in City's games so far in this Premier League season (36 for and 63 against). Swansea City manager Paul Clement said: "They had a big chance at the end but they didn't have an attempt on target in the whole game so a defeat would have been harsh. You never know how valuable that point could be."

Comments:

League position: 19th Middlesbrough had now conceded only 33 goals so far in this Premier League season; fewer than 3rd placed Liverpool (37) and 6th placed Arsenal (36). Boro had now kept nine clean sheets so far in this Premier League season (more than 13 other teams, including three of top six) but had now failed to score in 14 games. Rudy Gestede had now gone 39 Premier League games since playing in a winning team (for Aston Villa at AFC Bournemouth on 8 August 2015); the longest current run without a win in the competition. Middlesbrough caretaker manager Steve Agnew said: "You could see that the fight is there. The spirit is terrific. You'd expect Rudy Gestede to score at the end but when the next chance comes I'm sure he will."
