League position: 13th Having lost their opening three home league games for the first time in their history, this was Swansea City's first home win in this Premier League season (played four). The Swans had now won two of their last seven games in the Premier League against newly-promoted teams (lost four). Tammy Abraham scored as many goals in this game as he had in his previous nine career games in the Premier League. Swansea City manager Paul Clement said: "We have shown with the other systems that we can be hard to break down, but today we managed to find that balance. We kept a clean sheet but also had a threat going forward. The decision to change the system was because of a combination of what I saw at West Ham and also the games before that. We didn't create a lot of chances and we were not scoring enough goals, but we have found that balance today."

League position: 11th Huddersfield Town had now failed to score in four consecutive games in all competitions for the first time since August 2004. The Terriers were now without a win in six league games for the first time since November 2015. This was their first top division visit to Wales since a 2-1 win at Cardiff City on 24 September 1955. Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner said: “We had the best chance of the game in the first-half when it was 0-0 but as I said this can happen. You miss your chances, be unlucky and make mistakes but it cannot happen that you don’t follow your match plan and that you aren’t brave enough with the ball. We didn’t follow what we wanted to do but in the second-half the players showed they were capable and that they were able to do this.”
