League position: 9th Swansea City have not beaten Chelsea in the league since winning 3-0 on 25 April 1981. This was only the second time that Swansea City had conceded five goals in the Premier League. The previous occasion was at Liverpool on 17 February 2013 (0-5).

This was the first time that Chelsea had scored four goals in the opening half of an away Premier League match since 2 October 2011 in a 5-1 win at Bolton Wanderers.
