League position: 9th Two days before his 40th birthday, Shay Given made his Premier League debut for Stoke City so becoming the oldest player to appear for the club in the competition. The previous Potters Premier League record holder was fellow keeper Thomas Sorensen who was 37 years and 332 days when he made his final appearance against West Bromwich Albion on 11 May 2014. Stoke City had now conceded four or more goals in consecutive league games for the first time since September 1994 in League Division 1 (0-4 at both Reading and Bolton Wanderers).
