Comments:

League position: 10th Southampton had now won two of their last 11 home games in the Premier League. The Saints had now scored only six goals in their last 11 Premier League home games. Sofiane Boufal's goal was his first in his last 23 Premier League appearances since scoring against Middlesbrough on 11 December 2016. Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino said: "I think it was a beautiful goal, one of the most beautiful goals of this season. It changed the game because it was a difficult game, but the most important thing was we deserved the win. We were better than them in my opinion and we dominated the game. I am happy for Sofiane."

Comments:

League position: 13th This was West Bromwich Albion's 200th defeat in the Premier League. The Baggies had now won two of their last 18 games in the Premier League (lost ten). After 88 minutes and having used all their three substitutions, West Bromwich Albion were reduced to ten men when Craig Dawson had to leave the pitch due to injury. West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis said: "I thought we were flat. You have to change your week when you play on a Monday night. Whether it was the change because we had them in on Tuesday and gave them Wednesday off and tried to make the week like a normal week. We’ll have to look at that."
