League position: 7th With this draw and with four games still to play, Southampton established a new club record of 57 points in a Premier League season, surpassing the 56 they accrued last season. It became their highest tally in the top division since 1984-85 (68 points). The Saints had now won just three of their last ten Premier League games. They conceded more than one goal in each of two consecutive Premier League games for the first time since March 2014. The second game then was a 3-2 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur.
