League position: 17th This was new manager Ralph Hasenhüttl's first home game in charge. This was Southampton's first win in their last nine home games in the Premier League (lost three). They became the last team in the top four divisions to win a home league game in this season. They scored three or more goals for the first time in their last 35 games in all competitions since a 3-2 win at West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League on 3 February 2018. The Saints avoided setting a new club record of 13 games in the Premier League without a win. Charlie Austin had now scored in each of his five games against Arsenal in the Premier League. Southampton now taken a total 901 points from their games in the Premier League (played 751, won 231, lost 312).
